What is coaching?
I coach by creating a safe space for you to think and learn about yourself. Coaching is forward looking and often goal oriented. I am guided by you on what we focus on in each session and I will tailor what we do to meet your needs. I’ll ask you questions, make observations and show you some models or suggest some exercises that I think will help you.
Coaching isn’t mentoring or teaching so I don’t tell you what to do or solve your problems for you. I do however guide you to look at your thinking and behaviour to enable you to change to be more powerful, calm, in control and happy.
Coaching isn’t therapy or counselling. These usually aim to help people deal with mental pain and trauma and are often looking at the past. Coaching helps with mental growth and self-development to identify the change you want and help you get there.
If you are seeing a counsellor or therapist you can see a coach too. You just need to discuss this with both of them.
